Introduction
Hi,
This is a little bit about myself. I am a software developer currently working in the financial sector (health insurance) and going about trying to
make the best of all opportunities. I have strong beliefs about how things work and will always try and improve the current way of doing things. This
shows I guess in my interest in algorithms.
From current and past experience I believe we as an IT community have contributed tremendously to the software crisis. By software crisis I am refering to the amount of failed projects and the perceived successful projects which are done in lightening speed time with no planning and thought, but then suffer from an increased cost in maintenance. So while I do agree that planning does increase the initial cost of creating a system it however does decrease the final cost of the system when taking into account the maintenance cost. So the conclusion here is... plan or don't, but then you are just planning to fail or spend a lot more than intended.
